Airen

While Chardonnay is widely planted in the US, France, Australia and New Zealand, it is not the most planted grape. That prestige belongs to the grape variety called Airen. The second-most planted is Trebbiano, used in France and Italy. Airen is cultivated heavily in Spain. It is typically used in the production of brandy as well as run of the mill dry white table wines.
